Lawns Go Wild was founded by Romir Jain, an aspiring high schooler passionate about sustainability, water conservation, and data analytics. After seeing the excessive water wastage associated with American lawns, Romir decided to take initiative. This was the birth of Lawns Go Wild. With a background in public policy and a drive to make a difference, he aims to integrate technology and data-driven approaches into Lawns Go Wild's initiatives. Romir actively engages in hands-on projects and community outreach, and hopes to inspire others to adapt to sustainable lawn care practices.
At Lawns Go Wild, our mission is to inspire individuals and communities to transform their lawns into sustainable, vibrant ecosystems that conserve water and resources. Through education, spreading awareness, advocacy for policy change, and hands-on initiatives, we aim to revolutionize the way Americans perceive and manage their lawns. It's time to change the perception of the American Lawn and how each lawn needs to have the greenest and shortest grass. Join the community and let your lawn go wild!

Lawns Go Wild supports laws that promote saving water in the maintenance of lawns. This means they may advocate for laws that encourage using less water usage for landscaping, give support to those who make their lawn go wild, and limit how much water can be used when watering grass. Engaging with lawmakers and joining discussions about these rules can make a big difference. We have already worked with Texas & Austin Legislature with successful policies.
Spreading awareness is crucial for Lawns Go Wild, who hope to spread the message to homeowners, community organizations, and the general public. These campaigns include speeches, blogs, and workshops to educate the community about the importance of water conservation, sustainable lawn care practices, and the benefits of transforming lawns into native, biodiverse ecosystems.
We continue to research, analyze data, and conduct experiments to determine the best quantitive and qualitative solutions to water wastage in lawns. Our most recent research was a paper on the association between soil quality and economic stratification, which will soon be published in an academic journal with the help of UT Austin's Wildflower research center.
Lawns Go Wild collaborates with local communities such as the University of Texas Wildflower Research Center, Texas Senate, and NPSOT. By creating partnerships, the organization can leverage resources, share knowledge, and share efforts to promote sustainable lawn care practices and find solutions.
